IMMUNISATION

• Parents please ensure that your children are fully vaccinated. Signed consent will be required between the ages of 0-16

• If in doubt, please contact the surgery or Health Visitor

• The present vaccination schedule is as follows :

AGE               VACCINE

2 months Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis, Polio, Hib (Haemophilus Influenzae type b), Pneumococcal

3 months Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis, Polio, Hib, Meningitis C

4 months Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis, Polio, Hib, Meningitis C, Pneumococcal

12 months Hib, meningitis C

13 months MMR Pneumococcal

40 - 60 months Pre school  Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis, Polio. MMR

13-18 years Tetanus Diphtheria and Polio

 

 

Influenza vaccination is carried out by the practice every Autumn and is recommended only for patients at particular risk. This applies to patients of all ages with the following conditions:

• Chronic respiratory disease, including asthma

• Chronic heart disease

• Chronic kidney disease

• Diabetes mellitus

• Any condition affecting the immune system including patients who have had their spleen removed.

It is also recommended for all patients over the age of 65 years and particularly for those in residential homes and long stay facilities.

TETANUS

Provided a total of five tetanus vaccines have been given, no further doses are required. If in doubt please contact the surgery.
