· Practice nurses are available at different times throughout the week by appointment.

· They offer a range of patient services including, advice on the management of diabetes, asthma, heart disease  and high blood pressure.

· They also advise patients on healthy lifestyle issues, such as smoking, alcohol, healthy eating and exercise.

· The nurses carry out dressings, suture removal, flu and tetanus vaccination, ear syringing, assessment of minor injuries and taking off blood samples.

· The practice nurses also help run various clinics.

Shona undertakes new patient checks, performs blood

pressure measurements, takes blood samples, checks

urine samples and assists the doctors and nurses.
